Sunset and Maple Leaves

I finished the sunset. I found that when using dark colors, acrylic tends to dry much darker than it should be. The bright part near the sun is not brighter enough after it gets dried. I am not planning to sell it.

I saw a beautiful photo of maple leaf and just want to paint it. This is a small section from the photo. For some part of the light, I use clear water and scrub it. Also, it is such a pleasure to use spattering here with dirty paints.

Tile: Maple Leaves
Watercolor on paper
size: 6.5" x 9, $35 + $5 S & H

Hi Lily:

Thanks for stopping by my sight yesterday. I see you are still exploding with creativity and your work is ever evolving. Wonderful, wonderful work! I love the picture of your darling daughter and your comments about her. I was visiting my grandchildren for three weeks, and even though I was sick the whole time, I loved every moment with them. I am finally recovering from illness, and I am preparing for an art festival this weekend. I haven't done any new work, I am sorry to say, because of recent circumstances. My computer was injured in the storm of May 25. Even though I have just received a new laptop and got it up and running this week,I haven't got all the programs on it yet. I am waiting to get my desktop back form the manufacture where is it being repaired. That one will be for my artwork and blog. Hope to be blogging more artwork in August. I am anxious to get back you my creative life.

Lily - I'm so glad you're back! And painting such beautiful things.

It's never too late to answer my tag, if you want to, but please don't feel you HAVE to. :)

PS - I notice you have Paypal set up here on your blog. I have a Paypal account & would like to do the same on mine - I'm considering starting a 2nd blog that's just a studio thing. Was it difficult to do? Do I just need to go over to Paypal & find out how to do it? I'm intrigued.

Thanks for the info & welcome back!

:) Debi

Hi Lily,

I love these two paintings! I understand what you're saying about working with acrylics and how they can dry darker than intended. Especially the reds it seems. :)

I especially love your sunset painting! I think you should reconsider selling it as it is just wonderful!

Take care,
Itaya

Thank you Itaya. Sometime, it is difficult to know which one is good and which one is not. When I looked at my painting for a long time, I lost judgment.

Hi Debi,

I'd love to try to do the tag thing.

About the Paypal, it is easy to do. You go to the paypal.com site. They have one for for merchants on top "Merchant Services".

You click it and go in there. You will see, "Buy Now Buttons" on your right side. You click there and follow the instructions to put your information.

After that, copy the code and put it in your blog just like you put your other information on your blog's side.

Try it and see what happen! :-)
