Flowers

These are created from my watercolor paintings of the big flowers and small leaves. I used digital collage to assemble the paintings.

I am going to do a painting tomorrow, I think!

The Blue Wind

This is the digital collage of small things such as leaves and flowers.

One thing is very important in design a painting is that you need to put the final image output size in mind. If your image has not enough pixels, you cannot print a nice image with a good size.

Flower Tree and Bird

I created two versions of this Flower Tree and Bird. These two are totally digital colored.

I found one problem with digital color is that the picture looks too neat to be interesting. To solve this problem I use some splattering brushes to try to modify this. You can compare the two blue ones in the above and down. I feel the above one is better.

Another thing I want to try later is to scan a background texture from a painting to add more life to a digital painting.

Poppies

Finally I made something that I always want to do. It includes my painting plus digital modifications.

This poppy is created using my watercolor painting that I cut out as flowers and existing brushes at the bottom.

I realize one important thing to create a lively digital painting is that you need to thinking about a light source. You make the things away from light darker.

I have some fun to play around brushes. I created another one "fancy fans" using some existing brush as well.

Bird and Flower

I have a lot of fun playing around Photoshop.

I created two version of the same topic. It is just a lick to change the color in Photoshop if you managed to create the layers well.

Love Brids

It was a long weekend and we spent sometime out of Singapore to Malaysia these days. It was such a nice trip and I feel so fresh after coming back.

This is a digital collage with my two small paintings of the birds and the house. I just want to try out digital media for a while to see how it goes. There are lot of things for me to learn including using software and design. I am interested in it very much.

Flowers in the Air

After finishing the painting, I feel "Flower Girl" may be a name for the painting. But it sounds very girlish and instead I use the current name. Actually, it is what I try to achieve initially.

Lotus

I love Indian poet Rabindranath Tagore's poem very much. They are my best friend during my teenage and university time. And they may be one of the important reasons that made me start of painting.

I always wanted to paint Tagore's poem and finally today I get started. This is the "Lotus" from his "GITANJALI (Song of offerings)". It is one of my favorites. I put it here for your references:

Lotus

On the day when the lotus bloomed, alas, my mind was straying,

and I knew it not. My basket was empty and the flower remained unheeded.

Only now and again a sadness fell upon me, and I started up from my

dream and felt a sweet trace of a strange fragrance in the south wind.

That vague sweetness made my heart ache with longing and it seemed to

me that is was the eager breath of the summer seeking for its completion.

I knew not then that it was so near, that it was mine, and that this

perfect sweetness had blossomed in the depth of my own heart.

Romantic Night

I am a member of VAST which is a visual art team from Etsy. This month is the green challenge. I specially created this for the challenge.

Bamboo is something that every park in China must have. We love bamboo because it symbolizes the integrity of human being. Bamboo is empty inside which means that you should not think always on yourself and straight upright that you should be upright and moral.

A chair near a bamboo field is a common scene in China's park and is somewhere that lovers love to go. Thus the painting is about a romantic night of lovers.
