It has been a very busy and exciting year for me both at home and my art products. I am glad to see my little business growing steadily.  I have learned a lot not only in art creation, but also in running an art business.

The most important lesson I've learned is to have a strict process in place to protect your intellectual properties. My laptop skin designs are stolen by a Hong Kong company called HongKong Keda Technology Co. Ltd who listed my laptop skins in a Chinese business trading website Alibaba.com without my permission.  I realized that how important it is to protect your intellectual property. It is an ongoing battle with the intellectual property thieves because they get no penalty to list the stolen products again and again.

This year also seeing my domain: lilypangart.com is created. I should have created my domain right from start so that I don't waste time to create an Internet presence for my art. This is a good lesson to me.

Looking towards new year, I wish to have more and more new creations. I am so excited that there are so many things that I can try in the new year.

Just made these prints today. They are printed on heavy art paper of A4 size (8.3 x 11.8"/21 x 30 cm). The image is around 8 x 10.5" /20 x 27cm.

I love the pair of In the Love Land rose tree prints. They look very cute and romantic. Aren't they suitable gift for Valentine's day?

Moonlight Sonata Flower Moon Night Abstract Landscape Print and Laptop Skin

I love Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata and this was created while I was listening to this music on a rainy day.

 

I just made this laptop skin for a customer order. It is a fairly big sized laptop skin of 11 x 15"/28 x 38cm.

I changed the orientation of the skin from portrait to landscape by expending the painting on the horizontal direction. Meanwhile I also moved the flowers into appropriate positions. In this case, the image is not cropped from a bigger one and it retains the whole spirit of the print.  It's lovely and I like it very much.

I made the Humming Birds design with a texture background. They give different feelings and are also very beautiful.

I like the dark background. It makes the flowers very striking. While the light green background allows the flowers to shine subtly.

I am thinking of using some little flowers to do some work for a long time. There are so many images with flower field and they never fail to attract me. But I am not sure how I can transfer the images with many flowers into a nice painting.

For some piece of my work, initially I just have some vague ideas and sometime I think the ideas may not work at all at that time. I may forgot about them for a while. But sometime, suddenly something may triggers the ideas again with more things in my mind. I will re-examine them and sometime they work and sometime, it needs more time to make them work. My conclusion is that when you have idea, keep thinking of it and it may work later.

I think they make a very pretty pair as a set of magnets. These magnets are made of square of 2" x 2"/5 x 5cm. It is 1cm thick.

These are the glass pendants that I have just made. One of my customers told me that she loved the ones that she ordered from me so much that she felt like not want to give them as Christmas gifts.

I feel a bit in the same way. Just by looking at them, I am so happy.

I have the following Calla Lily with blue background. It was sold several of them after it was introduced. I guess it is very unique to have a watercolor painting as a glass pendant and made this pink calla lily glass pendant as well. It is very demure and adorable.

This is one of the most popular laptop skins among the students. It was sold first to Vivien a National University of Singapore (NUS) student. She loves it very much and kindly send me the photos after applying the skin.

I like the cool black and yellow colors. The combination is wonderful. This laptop skin is featured recently in an Etsy treasure together with a collection of black and yellow or gold. These items are beautiful. Thank you very much FireGrog for assemble the collection.

Pink Calla Lily II Flower Garden Original Watercolor Painting

The last pink calla lily is in small size. I thought it would be nice to make another calla lily with the same size as others. I am also in love with the pink calla lily. I like to mix quinacridone rose with a bit of sepia to product such delicate and not so bright pink. This painting is my favorite one.

I painted this flower yesterday using unfinished paints. Today I am thinking of using it to do something. It is very nice to be as a background. This is how the Little Flower Girl came up.

This may be the last calla lily painting that I am going to paint. This is a bit smaller one with 9.5" x 6.5"/24.5 x 17cm . I feel that I should paint something else unless I am excited by some more calla lilies.

Finally I got some time to do original painting. My baby daughter has been sick many times after going to nursery school. I almost spent all my time visiting hospitals and feeding her medicines. I hope she can get over with it soon.
