Flower Mountain

I was wondering what to paint today. I am a bit stuck with my watercolor and would like to put it down for a while.

I bought a lot of gouache while I was in China, because gouache is a very convenient medium to use when you are traveling.

Now I look at these paints and think I should use it to do some digital work. Initially this painting was developed for a digital illustration, but I carried away and just paint it totally.

It is a very nice painting. I've never used gouche... why is it more convenient for travelling?? anything special?

I really like your acquarels but I can understand that you get bore always using the same medium/.
Have you tried those products that can be used to give texture to the paintings?

Marian, Thanks!

I found gouache is easy to use than watercolor and not difficult to clean. Acrylic is too difficult to clean and not children friendly. Thus, I like to use gouache while traveling. I guess some people who like to use dry medium such as color pencil would use color pencils.

I like to acquarels, but my problem is that I don't know how to paint it better. I can only repeat. Thus, I think I better put it down for a while and see what happens.

I do use texture medium in watercolor such as texture gel. It allows rich texture in watercolor. But not others. Do you have good ones to recommend?
