This is a computer illustration. I used a reference for this piece from a photo in a magazine. It is a flight magazine I read when I came back from China.

The Gaze and The Singapore Arts Street 2008
The Detail
The last two days I was at the Singapore Arts Street 2008. It was a very interesting event. It was held in the HDB heartland and I was able to get some feeling of how ordinary people in Singapore viewing art.
Many people came to see the exhibition. A lot of them spent quite a long time viewing paintings one by one, especially for those modern abstract art created by art school students. I think Singaporean are really art loving people.
I am very happy to find some very interesting exhibitions. One is the Peranakan art created by the famous Singapore Artist Tung Yue Nang. I had a very good conversation with him and got some valuable advises from the veteran artist.
He has been spent last 10 years focusing on the Peranakan series that depict the beautiful Peranakan culture. The following is one of them at the exhibition.
The another interesting show is the folk art painting. There was a demonstration by the artist on the site. I got to see the whole process of developing some beautiful flower, bird, and landscape motifs. If you are interested, the artists also hold classes for you to learn. Just drop by next weekends to find out more.
About the "The Gaze", long time I have been thinking of creating something very beautiful and warm in colors. I love to paint beautiful girls and this how the painting is created.

Size: 16 x 20, $350 + $40 S & H

Among the Flowers and Singpare Arts Street
I haven't do any work for one and half months. Everyday in China I was surrounded by two little girls, my sister's two year old and my one year old.
The little two year old girl loves painting and wants to paint with me all the time. She paints very well. I was wondering if she is especially talented or every two year old likes painting as well.
This is the painting developed from a sketch that I painted for the little girl.
I am also preparing for a show at this and next weekends. It is Singapore Arts Street 2008. Hope to see you there!

China Trip
First, I'd like to think all the people who are concerned with my safety during my visit in China. Just let all of you know that the place I was visiting was far away from the earthquake area. I was safe and sound.
I really feel shock and sad to watch the miserable earthquake news. I hope for the speed recovery of the disaster area both physically and mentally.
I have no access to my blog from China's Internet somehow. I am sorry I couldn't post any message.
Except from the earthquake news, I had a wonderful time in Ningbo, my hometown.
I love to walk on the street to see how different the place is comparing to the time when I left to USA. Sometime I am thinking, what will happen to me if I stayed in China .
I share some of the photos that I managed to take. With a baby in my hand, I missed many exciting scenes.
The birthday girl had a big birthday party in a hotel. She had a very good time with her grandparents, aunties, uncles and cousins.
When you see a doctor, you are not left alone with him. All other eager patients will surround you and your doctor, listen to all the discussion between yours. Haha... No secrets allowed.
Job training is for exhibition. You can see many such employee training scenes in the service lines on the street.
If you want to make money, I guess China is a good place.
That's all for today's post. I'll try to catch all of you and your blogs ASAP.
