I was looking at materials to develop ready to hang big prints for a while. Finally I tried on canvas with laminated print mounted on it. It looks beautiful.

These prints are mounted on 12 x 16/30 x 40cm canvas. They are ready to hang. The sides are covered with the prints. They look neat and modern.

The print is laminated which means it has a plastic protection layer on top. You can clean it with a wet towel if it has put on some dust. The print side won't be spoilt.

The ink used is environment friendly ink. It is long lasting whether it is indoor and outdoor. You can hang the print anywhere such as in a room or in your gardens or patios.

I was asked by some of my customers to make some gifts or souvenirs from the design that I have for wedding ceremonies. In Singapore, after you attend a wedding ceremony, you will go back with you some small gifts that symbolize the love and happiness or blessing of the couple such as a white hair old couple. It means that they will be together till they are very old or at the end of the day.

I made a set of magnets with love birds, sweet home and peonies in the design. They symbol happiness, love, romance and longevity. The flower peony in Chinese also represents noble and rich. They are ideal sweet gifts to share your happiness among your guests.

These magnets are all 5 cm in diameter for round ones or 5 cm x 5 cm for square ones.

Magnets are now the most popular items in my stores. I like them as they like ACEOs (Art Card Edition and Orginal) and better they are on a magnets. It is easy to collect.

I finally got a domain: lilypangart.com.

I know I should get a domain for my store. But it is so confusing to me when I try to buy one. I was satisfied with the Googlepages because it serves me very well and not in a hurry to change.

Well, I was forced to get a domain now since Googlepages will not work for long. I finally bought the domain in GoDaddy because it is mentioned the most in some of the forums. I also bought 2 months hosting from them. But I was very disappointed that I cannot set up properly my site in their web hosting. When I try to download my files, there are always problem such as connection slow, down, file cannot be uploaded problems.

After much frustrations, I decided to stick with the orgFree free hosting site. It is a breeze when I put my files there. No trouble at all. Plus it is free for now and will cost only $1 per month later. Thus I use the domain name register in GoDaddy and host my web pages in orgFree.

The new site has some links to Acrylics and Watercolors that are not working. I am still working on them. I hope all others are fine now.

Moving My Store into a New Web Hosting Site

I have been very busy on some house hold staff and my new web site.

The thing that drives me very busy now is to set up a new web site for my store. Currently, I have my store created using Google Page Creator. I love it, because it is free, provides full control for me and it is very fast.

However, bad things happen now. Google is going to migrate my store to something call Google Site. It told me that I cannot do the things that I used to do in the new site.

The most important feature that I love is that Google Page Creator allows me to upload my own html file. I need this because I create my store using Dreamweaver in HTML. I also sometime host some other non sales pages such as friends photos and apartment rentals. If my store is moved to Google site, I cannot do something on Dreamweaver again. I don't like it because I feel that I loose a lot control to my store.

I need a new site to host my store. I did quite some search to find a good one. After evaluating many sites, I choose OrgFree.

My criteria for choosing it is simple. I need reasonable speed, easy ftp access, free web hosting, no ads on my pages and large storage space. I want it to be free at least while I am trying.

After trying many sites, I feel that OrgFree fits my criteria very well.

My new shop now is in Hostrator. It is not full-fledged yet, but the Laptop Skins, Jewelries and Magnets are all fine now.

This month question is: What is your favorite publication(s)? Is there a book, books, magazine, or website that has become the bible of your art/craft?

Well, I think there are many sources that I use as references to my art. I access wide variety of sources. There is no book or source that I use for a long time. The inspiration comes instantly when I see it. If it doesn't inspire me to do something immediately, it most will never inspire me even if I read it many times later.

But I do have books that I use as something like bible to me. One is the "Through the Eyes of Vincent Van Gogh" and another one is the Traditional Chinese Painting Reference Book: 芥 子 园 画 谱.

I read Van Gogh 's book and feel the passion and zest from each painting even on some very ordinary topics. I discover new things each time from the paintings on why they are so nice.

The Traditional Chinese Painting Reference Book gives me the other aspect of painting, the calm and serenity of a painting. The book is a bible for everyone who wants to learn Chinese painting. It gives examples of how to construct a landscape or flower and bird painting. Some of the basic Chinese painting techniques such as the follows are explained.
- do not cross three branch into one point,
- when paint crowded part, it should be so dense that wind cannot pass, however, if you paint more empty part, it should be so sparse that a horse can go over.

I do not paint Chinese painting anymore, but I do read it as the principles can apply to any type of painting.

The Red Wind Bird Print

I like some of the methods in Chinese painting, fading away and leave empty space in certain part of the painting. I attend some of the Chinese painting exhibitions in China and was really impressed by them. I guess I am using some of the technique here as well.

I only painted four acrylic paintings while I was away and cannot wait to pick up my brush to do the paintings. Birds are my familiar and favorite subjects. While picking up my memory on how to paint, I choose something that I love to start.

This is my niece and my baby daughter. My niece is so understanding now comparing to her a year ago. She takes care of her little sister and gives way to the little sister on everything that she demands to have.

I have a wonderful trip to China and be with my family and relatives. My baby daughter spends an unforgettable birthday party. I also visited some of my collage classmates and the collage campus. The great thing to know is that all of the people that I know are happy and healthy.

Back to work again. The first thing that I did today is to process the orders that are placed when I was away. Thank all of my dear customers. They ordered the products despite the fact that they have to wait till I came back. Thank you all for your patience.
