I was watching the
Chinese Ghost Story in the holiday time and was attracted to the scene with a big red tree. I cannot get rid of the image from my mind since then till I paint one with the similar scene.

Just share with you the large canvas print Hummingbird that is freshly printed today. It measures 25 x 37"/65 x 95cm. It looks really great.
I went to shopping for some jewelery accessories yesterday and found some beautiful frame base and charms. I cannot resist to buy them although I know I should spend more time on other things.
The above one is a very elegant antique brass base. It is a quite big frame with Pendant size: 1.4 x 1.7"/35mm x 45mm, image size: 0.7 x 1"/18mm x 25mm
I made it into a long necklace with
Wild Poppies and Birds design.
I also found some small square shape frame bases. The silver toned and brass ones. They are petite and very cute for short necklaces.
These are two very large canvas prints of 29" x 41"/74 x 105cm and 25" x 33"/64 x 84cm. The customer will stretch them onto canvas frames after receiving them.

Some new addition to the iPhone Skin design following customers' requests.
This is a watercolor print created with falling leaves.
School holiday is here. I need to find activities for the 4 years old. The nature printing is a good and fun choice. The kitchen is the ideal little studio for printmaking.
This is a card we created together. My daughter was so happy to do the print. Every time she pulled the leave from the paper, she would say "wow, so pretty".
White owls such as snowy owls with pink body are really cute. This is created following a customer's request. I also created this laptop skin as well.
With addition of several bird watercolor paintings, I though why not make some magnets from them. It is a quite interesting and pretty combination.
These are small button like magnets of 3cm in diameters made of strong earth magnets. The print surface is covered with protection sealants.
Our neighborhood has a great Halloween trick or treat last night. The kids as well as adults had really good fun.
I was very busy processing orders these days. Christmas is coming and orders are increased significantly. I am happy to squeeze out some time to do this painting.
A a pair of skins for the front and the back for your iPhone 4.
My daughter has long hours in school today because she has a school outing. I enjoy some rear moment of alone at home and paint without constant distracting of a 4 year old. Love to paint the birds and flowers.
The bird details.
It is a very sad day today that the toddler Yue Yue who was hit twice by a van and a truck dies after 8 days of struggling with the horrific traffic accident. I followed the story very closely. You can find the article in Asia one
Chinese hit-and-run toddler dies.
The incident may be the most talked about topic now in China's media. I don't dare to look at the video that captured the incident and showed how the toddler was run over three times. In between there are 18 people walking passed her and no one helped her. The first driver who knocked her down stopped his car for a while and decided to keep driving by running over her again. It is too disgusting!!!
People are asking what happen to the Chinese people nowadays?!!!
May Yue Yue rest in peace!
I am glad that I had sometime today to paint this red bird water color. It has been very long since I didn't paint seriously.
The following is the detail of the bird:
A small watercolor painting that hopes to lead to more paintings in the coming weeks.
Following a customer's request, I made this laptop skin from the portrait version of the Wild Poppies and Birds.
I am glad that we are back and safe after visiting so many places in Germany and Sweden and taking so many flights and trains. I just read the news about a Singaporean who is missing in Athens, Greek when attending a conference there (see the facebook page
Louk Leong Jin). I feel so fortunate that Germany and Sweden are very safe and friendly to visitors.
After settling down and sending my daughter to school, the next thing for me is to start process orders accumulated during the trip. I still get few orders of laptop skins including the above two from customers who are willing to wait.
I didn't plan to do some shopping in Germany. I thought Singapore is perfect for shopping and I don't need to do much in Germany. I assume that German goods are more expensive.
But after strolling on the Bonn streets I am very surprise to find that almost everything is cheaper here comparing to Singapore. The food is cheaper, cloth is cheaper. Staying in Singapore for a long time, I didn't realize that Singapore's cost of living is climbing up so much now. It is not surprising to know that Singapore is the 8th most expensive city in the world and Bonn is not even among the top 50 most expensive cities according to a 2011
survey.
You can find many shops that are familiar to Singapreans such as Zara, H & M, Promod. I am so happy that there are so many nice clothes that I can buy. In Singapore, I normally end up with nothing after 1 or 2 hours shopping.
I didn't see any luxury shops such as Louis Vuitton or Gucci in Bonn. Bonn used to be the west German's capital. But the city is like a small town. Streets are small and friendly. I can walk from my apartment easily to the central of the city and many city attractions. If you need to go out to other cities, the trains and buses are easily accessible. There are so many cultural activies going on such as Beethoven festival and Klangwelle 2011 (Sound and Wave 2011). I just love the way of living in Bonn.
Apart from visiting the Wallraf Museum in Cologne, we were attracted to many nice shops as well. We bought several pairs of pretty and cheap made in China shoes.
