China Trip

I went to China for a small break to visit my parents at the year end when schools were all closed. We love to have some experience of winter time, to see how snow falls, ice on the roof, the things that we cannot get in tropical island Singapore.

My hometown is changed every time we visit it.  This time, not like before we only spent our time on dining with others, we got sometime to walk around and see the new city.
Conserved Old Houses
Those old houses and rice fields that you can see the horizon across them are replaced by modern towers and huge roads with busy traffics.

New City
It is a pity that our small hometown is getting bigger and bigger and is more and more like Beijing. I found it is so difficult to find a nice jogging area around the place I stay. Nearby, there are all tall buildings, shopping malls, and huge roads. It is noisy and crowded.

Small Rivers in the City
The city is in the south east of China. It has many small rivers going through the city. But now, the rivers are all hide under the big roads and it is very difficult to get to see them because normally you don't walk on the roads, you drive through them. Those germs are all buried under the concrete structures except few parks.

People told me that there are two many people in China and you have to build big roads and tall buildings. I am not sure about it. I live in a very small city country Singapore and I still enjoy nice greenery environment. My children do not need to go through big shopping malls to go to school everyday.

Nevertheless, we enjoy the time visiting relatives and especially the feeling of wearing a father coat and cold wind blowing in our face.
