Just finished this Sisters Elegant Glass Pendant with one of the girl has golden hair. One of my customers wants to have it for a gift. I guess the gift is for someone with golden hair.

I have very little feeling to paint a girl with golden hair. To me, the natural hair colors are black, dark brown. It is very interesting to change the girl from the original Sisters painting to be blond.

I finally finished the "Waiting" print. This is a project that I created following the song with the same name. You can click the image to see details.

is the long plain life 
But I still want to live it over again...."

The Girl Details

I try to dramatize the beaut and glory of life once you have lived with peonies. The black and gray flowers symbolize the long plain time in your life.

  I like the Large Laminated Print. It is very glorious.

Waiting - Work in Progress II

I made a bit progress on the project "Waiting". I liked the song:

" I don't know why I am still waiting
 and Why I am still so obsessed with your love
I know that when splendid moment is over, what awaits me
is the long plain life 
But I still want to live it over again...."

It is my interpretation or translation of the Chinese song.

I made the peonies in the upper right corner to represent the splendid moment and life once existed. The left corner with black and white flowers as the plain and dull time that dominates most of your life.

This is a new project that I am working on these days or whenever I have time. Too bad too many small things distract me these days.

It is named "Waiting" after this beautiful song with the same name.

I like people using sharp strong colors in their work such as bright red, green and blue. One day I may also use these colors. I like every color and want to try to see the how they will turn out in a painting.

I would also like to try mysterious black, gray and white or silver. They are modern and attractive to me. Colors are so magical.

This is transformed from the previous painting "A Girl Wearing Qi Bao".

I don't quite like the effect of this painting and rework it with the map and newspaper collage. I feel that the map represents the mountains and rivers of a village very well.

I came across this blog "Inspiration Around Us". This week, it has a rose photo for inspiration. The roses are nice but it is a bit difficult.

I was initially not serious on working on it, just drawing roses for fun till the roses turned out to be interesting.

I sketched several versions of them, tried watercolor and finally settled on this illustration.

To add some interesting to the background, I add the Chinese calligraphy images.

I like how the roses turned out to be.

Most of the time I was processing the orders these days for my work. My baby daughter is staying at home all day these days after she came back from hospital for a minor infection. I will only send her to school when she is fully recovered.

This is a Laminated Print mounted on Wood Block of the print Me and Nature -   Passionate and Mischievousness. It is fresh made for a customer order. I put the wood block on top of a teak cabinet for the photo. It looks beautiful with the amaryllis.

This is inspired by a photo from a fashion magazine. I bought the magazine from the Shanghai airport last year. I liked the magazine very much and felt that it can inspire me to do some work, although I have no concrete ideas what would come out then.

 I am thinking of using the two girls to do a painting for a long time. I like the posture of the two girls. Finally I feel that it may be a good idea to let them sit on a tree when seeing beautiful pink flower trees everywhere everyday in Singapore.

Early Summer and Bird Pond Garden Flower Abstract Art Square Magnet Set

Thanks to Jan Iving's suggestion that they Early summer is nice to be made in magnet. I paired it with Bird Pond and they look very pretty.

I am still working on the Early Summer. I feel that the girl is nice if it is covered a bit with some flower in her shoulder and some texture in her neck and face as well. Here it is, I guess it should be the final version.

My husband told me that he likes the girl without solid hair as in the first post of Early Summer. It is as the follows:

I wonder which one you like the better. I found it lacks a bit contrast without the solid hair. To compromise I lower a bit of the hair tone and add the lines for the hair as in the first image. But I do like the second image as well as it gives more romantic atmosphere. 

I created my profile in the local Singapore art gallery Fill Your Wall. I uploaded some big original paintings there as they are too heavy to be shipped outside Singapore. My gallery is at HERE.

I found many interesting paintings and artist there. One of them is Sri Rages. She is very hard-working and bold artist with many beautiful creations. I hope you enjoy her work.

My baby didn't go to school the whole week due to the hand foot and mouth disease case in her school. She talks more and more complete sentences now. Suddenly she likes to say "Hear me mommy, I want this, Hear me mommy I want that". If I don't react quickly enough to her request, she will repeatably says "Hear me". So funny.
