I like to paint large area using watercolor. It is very interesting to wet the area first and brush a color and drop some others as accent. The colors will move to form pretty result.

I was attracted to these beautiful little houses. They reminded me of my grandparent's house which is surrounded by a field of yellow flowers in Spring. It is a very peaceful and quiet village.

I promise myself to do more original paintings in the new year. I love to paint the beautiful scenery and flowers.

Another purple painting with lavenders. It is a bigger one of 11.4" x 14"/30 x 37cm.

Sea Village

I like this sea view. It is simple but with beautiful water and sky. I took the photo of the painting when it was quite dark and the blues are not quite right. I'll replace another one tomorrow.

It was a busy day today. I went to the hospital for a routine checkup and immunization of my baby. This type of hospital visit always likes this. She was so happy to go there and walk around to see the nurses smile and say hello to her, but end up crying home because of the shots.

Loose Approach in Watercolor and Beauty Business

I feel that my landscape watercolor is painted in too controlled way. I would like to loose it up. Here are two small ones that I was experiment with. One is garden and another is a landscape.

The more you try with watercolor the more you found the beauty of it. The colors are so interesting and gives so many varsities when they mixed in the paper.

Last Saturday I went to attend one of my friends opening ceremony of her beauty business. She aims to combine Chinese Medicine with usual beauty business methods such as facial and body slim. It is very special in Singapore I think.
Beauty business is a great business in Singapore. Singaporean love to make themselves beautiful. Life is stressful in Singapore because of lacking of good social welfare and increasing living cost. People are working very hard. Sometime, they want to pamper themselves by spending lots of money on them. Beauty treatment is a good way to do it.

I wish her business great success. I believe it will because she is caring, beautiful and always makes everyone comfortable. We love to be with her.

The Flower Path

This is a larger piece of 20" x 20". It's fun to paint the tree and the leaves. I didn't use wash here and just use brush strokes. It reminds me of Chinese painting on rice paper.

I have learned Chinese painting in my Collage time. My university is the famous Zhejiang University located in the most beautiful city in China Hangzhou. It was a very fun time. We sometime went out to the garden and river side to do outdoor paintings under the warm spring sunshine. I just wanted to have some fun at that time and never thought I'll do painting full time now. If I knew, I would study harder then.

I am also working on my website and hope it will be ready for the blog anniversary sale planned from Sept. 15th to Oct. 15th.

Spring Time

I have never tried using ink drawing with watercolor painting before. Today I really wanted to do it and came up with these two small paintings. It is very interesting. It allows me to paint patterns of flowers, but with nice flow of background.

Red Cliff

I love to paint houses and water and the sun lights. You can create dramatic painting from them. I exaggerated the cliff here from dark blue to red try to achieve some impact.

A lot of masking fluid is used here. I am not sure if there is such scene existed anywhere. I love to create beautiful scenes.

Sleepless City

I seldom paint landscape with such many houses. I found it is rather difficult to do it to paint each little house different, interesting and harmonious. But these type of landscape is most beautiful to me. They are full of human activities, but not totally a too modern metropolitan city. I think I all paint more of it in the future.

Far and Above and Sale on RedBubble

This is an imaginary image. I like red houses very much. When I saw a beautiful picture of an ice mountain, I thought it would be nice to fit it with a red lovely house. It is complete with a field of lavender.

When you paint landscape like this, it is difficult to take a photo of it in a real place. What I normally do is to compose one from different photos or change colors, lights or mood from an ordinary photo.

I have sold some cards on RedBubble before, but today I got a surprise. I sold a big print of one of my paintings, The Gaze. I am so happy.

Near the Pond and Sunset

I like green, white and black combination. It is so cooling in this hot summer time. By the way, it is summer all the time in Singapore. In this case, the colors are specially lovely to me.

Comparing to acrylic painting, watercolor painting is so much neat. You don't need to worry about your paints are drying in your plate. It is so easy to wash off the paints.

Today is a productive day. I talked to a long lost friend through phone and did another painting. I just found this friend yesterday. We talked for a very long time and I am so happy.

I am using a hairdryer to dry the watercolor painting while adding different layers. This allows me to paint quickly. I am able to do part of another painting in Acrylic "Sunset". Initially I was trying also to use watercolor, but I was worried that the color may get muddy for the sky. It has so much different colors and so rich. I should try it next time to challenge myself.

I managed to finish this large painting today. It's fun to paint in large pieces than the small ones. But I need to paint some small ones later. For some topics, you need to use a small paper.

Sunset - Fairyland 2

Normally I don't paint the same painting more than once, but this time I painted another sunset fairyland. I try to experiment the glow of the lights during night.

Golden Trees in a lake

This is a landscape in a bigger size than I paint usually. The golden tree is so beautiful during autumn time. But only very few people can find them and see them because they are located in the inner mountains.
