Lily Pang Art
Lily Pang Art and Design, Gardening, Painting
It has been a very busy week that I spend most of the time tending home needs and processing orders.
Dawanda has sales this week.
This is a canvas print of Bamboo Bird. I love the canvas print. The colors are really beautiful!
I finished the print last night at about 1am. I am worried that the background is too red, but was relieved this morning to see that it is just right. The background is a bit red under the night light.

I start a new printmaking project today. It is inspired by my daughter's peacock drawing:
I found the pattern is very nice and would love to see how it will turn out in a printmaking.
I just managed to layout the drawing in the lino board and cut the white out.
Just made these very cute small round magnets. They are 3cm/1.2" in diameter. They are sold in set of 4 of the magnets.
These are the base of the magnets. They are made of plastic with strong magnets. The colors of the base are varied from set to set.
I found that it is easier to use colors in the night under the electrical lights to make print than painting. If I painted at night, I would find in the next morning that the colors were very wrong under the sun light. But printmaking seems has no such problem. Thus, I can work in the night when others are not "bothering" me.
It is very relaxing when cutting the lino board. I feel very therapeutic to do printing after a normally very occupied and sometime chaotic day.

One of the exciting things about printmaking is that there are lots of surprises. You never know what exactly it is until you pull the paper.
I am busy making glass pendants these days. It takes at least two days to complete a glass pendant for shipping.
This is made from
Twitting among Cherries print.

I just had this skin printed for a customer order. It is perfect. I love the colors. They are brilliant.
It takes a whole day for me except being a "Minister of Home Affair (MHA)" to complete the print. I just got this "MHA" new job title from my family members because of the things I do such as chauffeur everyone around to save their traffic time, design daily meal menus and take care of bills and make appointments. It sounds better than "House Wife", isn't it?

| Applied the First Color |
|
While making the print, I need constantly to look out to balance the different colored parts and white parts during cutting the lino board.
Since I cut away the color that I want to preserve after applying each color, if there is a big mistake, I cannot reverse it. The print just has to be thrown away. If nothing goes wrong, in the end, the lino board surface is almost cut away flat and all the hard work of previous cuttings are gone. That's why the reductive relief printmaking is also called "
suicide printmaking".

I like the texture of the print. Because I use hand to push the papers to make print and that makes uneven texture of the color. I think this is the beauty of hand-pull printmaking.

| How Silver Necklace looks with a cloth |
I am planning to take some photos with a model so that it can show exactly how the necklace will look like in person.
